About this Event:
Diabetes Jersey invites you to join this first of a kind seminar where we will hear from 3 eminent speakers from Imperial College NHS Trust alongside Diane Coppins our own newly appointed Diabetes Specialist Dietician based in Jersey. The day will focus on the benefits of technology in the treatment of type 1, strategies for managing exercise with type 1 and managing the psychological issues of living with type 1. Diane will be running a practical session after lunch on her new role and carbohydrate counting.
Professor Nick Oliver: Nick is the Wynn professor of human metabolism and is a consultant in diabetes and endocrinology at Imperial College.
Sian Rilstone: Sian is a Diabetes Specialist Dietician and an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at Imperial College.
Dr Vicky McKechnie: Vicky is a Type 1 Specialist Clinical Psychologist at Charing Cross Hospital and Imperial College.
The day is intended to be a practical session aimed at individuals directly affected by type 1 diabetes and their healthcare providers. Young adults in transition are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian. We regret that no childcare is available for younger children on this occasion.
The number of tickets per individual is limited to ensure that all those living with type 1 are able to access the seminar. If you feel you require additional tickets, please contact Bill O Brien email: email@example.com for further information.
Diabetes Jersey is pleased to acknowledge that the event is supported by the Jersey Medical Society.
Representatives from the manufacturers of Freestyle Libre, Dexcom and Omnipod will also be in attendance.
